This section teaches you how to set up the autopilot, and take off.
You usually want to set up the autopilot before you taxi, but for this tutorial, we will do it before we take off.
The first thing you need to do is make sure you are on GPS, not NAV1 or NAV2. To do this, look at the picture below. You need to turn the upper-middle knob (The second one from the top) so it's pointing up. It should be pointing up at NAV FMC L.

Once you have done this, you need to set your altitude. Set it to 12000. Put your vert speed. Then set your speed to around 250kts for this flight. In the end it should look like this:
The autopilot setup is now complete, although you will need to press some of the autopilot buttons once we take off to activate it. Now put in the last frequency that ATC gave you. In this case it's 119.90. Put that in and then press enter on your keyboard, then click Checkin With Controller. It will then tell you that you are cleared for takeoff. Put your flaps down to about 25 and line up with the runway. After you take off and you are in the air press L NAV, V/S and then CMD (The one on the left.) Now just let autopilot do the rest of the work. ATC will also tell you to set your altimeter to a number. in this case it's 2992. What you need to do is adjust the " BARO" knob, which is located above the artificial horizon. To see what is is set at, look under, where it says your altitude. When ATC tells you to change it, then do that but adjusting the knob.
